Manufacturing and Test Development Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop automated test platforms to support product development and manufacturing test
  • Evaluation and selection of test equipment for use in test platforms
  • Integrate test platform test data with database systems
  • Direct involvement with the product design staff during new product development
  • Code Development using LabView and Visual Basic
  • Assist manufacturing operators to understand and use automated test platforms
  • Participate in failure analysis and root cause analysis activities
  • Direct involvement in product improvement initiatives

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with the development of Automated Manufacturing Test Platforms
  • 4 or more years of experience with LabView code development
  • Experience working with manufacturing operators and production staff
  • Experience supporting production test platforms
  • Experience with statistical data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with quality control and quality process practices

High-Voltage Materials & Design Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the mechanical design team in the design of products exposed to high voltage fields
  • E-field and B-field modeling and simulation for existing and future products
  • Develop manufacturing processes for high-voltage assemblies
  • Characterization of high-voltage materials and processes
  • Perform product verification and test activities (in-house and at certification labs)
  • Execute partial discharge, withstand and BIL testing of prototype designs and new products
  • Assist manufacturing operators to understand assembly techniques for high-voltage products
  • Participate in failure analysis and root cause analysis activities
  • Train manufacturing operators in high-voltage safety
  • Involvement in product improvement initiatives

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Material Science and or Electrical Engineering
  • High-Power Distribution Equipment Design Experience
  • Experience working with manufacturing operators and production staff
  • 4 or more years of experience in development/manufacture of high voltage assemblies
  • Experience with production use of high dielectric strength assemblies
  • Experience with statistical process stabilization and control techniques

Field Service Engineer

The primary function of the Field Service Engineer is to provide field service and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair, training and modification on medium voltage power distribution monitoring equipment and systems. Individual must be capable of self-managing assigned projects and maintain working knowledge of electrical test and diagnostic equipment and typical legacy distribution equipment that resides at the customer site location.

  • Ability to keep current with product technology as measured by ability to troubleshoot and repair various products and to instruct others.
  • Experience writing technical bulletins and service tips to assist department personnel in resolving problems of a technical nature. Experience with optical modeling software

Optical Manufacturing Assembly Technician

This position is responsible for the manufacturing activities associated with building mechanical and optical components and subassemblies with released work instructions, drawings, and schematics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively interface with Mfg. Engineering, R&D Engineering, and Quality Engineering on issues related to the day to day activities associated with manufacturing optical sensors.
  • Daily production activities focused on adherence to released procedures and processes, material flow, assembly, inspection and test of optical sensors assemblies.
  • Support engineering projects (as required) such as building and testing engineering samples and related activities.
  • Manage all related documentation for the related assembly release.
  • Must be able to work under microscope

Desired Qualifications

  • AA degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination and be detail oriented.
  • Skilled in optical system alignment, complex electro-mechanical assembly and testing processes.
  • Experienced using MS Office (excel, word, outlook)

Manufacturing Assembly Operator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

This position performs a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on optical power sensors.

Materials Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

This is a highly visible position with responsibility to provide results driven leadership to the purchasing, planning, shipping/receiving, and inventory departments. Key areas of accountability include, hands-on participation in department activities, planning, budgeting, purchasing, resource management, scheduling, training, supplier network, best practices, quality, and continued improvement of responsible areas

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic

  • Proactively obtain industry trend data and provide timely feedback to Sr. Leadership.
  • Provide input and data to support ongoing budgeting and strategic planning process.
  • Identify and develop strategic suppliers / partnerships to support business goals.

Departmental

  • Establish departmental goals and objectives that provide world-class materials performance to the organization.
  • Establish and track meaningful departmental reports / measurements.
  • Analyze reports, measurements and external benchmarks to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively lead the materials team to continuously improve processes and procedures.

  • Proactively manage material and work order exceptions and provide feedback to Manufacturing & Project Management on critical information.
  • Interface with project managers to establish workflow including release dates, releasing order, dates, and cash flow management.

Inventory Management

  • Minimize overall inventory value.
  • Ensure accuracy of data in system including location, quantity on hand, value, etc.
  • Create procedures and reporting for the effective management of inventory.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Ensure all customer orders are appropriately packaged and shipped promptly, accurately and with all necessary documentation.
  • Ensure all outsource manufacturing is appropriately packaged and shipped promptly, accurately and with all necessary documentation.
  • Ensure all materials are received promptly and accurately.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in business administration, material management, accounting, or similar.
  • 7+ years working experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive experience in purchasing, inventory, planning, supervision, and MRP systems.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, and networking skills are required.
  • Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others with exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
